Enhancing Career Management<br />

THE AUTHORS<br />

Major General Angus Campbell is the current serving Deputy Chief of <strong>Army</strong>. He is<br />

a graduate from the Royal Military College, Duntroon and has served in Infantry<br />

and Special Forces. In late 2005, he joined the Department of Prime Minister and<br />

Cabinet advising on national security. After returning to <strong>Army</strong>, he led the Military<br />

Strategic Commitments staff in Defence headquarters until assuming command of<br />

<strong>Australian</strong> forces deployed in the Middle East Area of Operations in 2011.<br />

Dr Corinne Manning is the Senior Advisor to the Chief of <strong>Army</strong>. She has worked<br />

for the <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Army</strong> since 2011 and is currently responsible for the strategic<br />

oversight of <strong>Army</strong>’s cultural reform agenda. Previously, Dr Manning worked as an<br />

academic at La Trobe, Monash and Victoria universities specialising in <strong>Australian</strong><br />

military, Indigenous, disability and migration histories.<br />

Brigadier Paul Nothard is the current serving Director General Career Management –<br />

<strong>Army</strong>. He is a graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon and was allotted to<br />

the Royal <strong>Australian</strong> Corps of Transport. He has served in a range of postings and<br />

staff appointments including command of the Force Level Logistic Asset – Middle<br />

East Area of Operations.<br />
