Matthias Meckert advises investors and banks in their (mostly crossborder)<br />
investments in German real estate. In addition, he provides<br />
comprehensive strategies on restructuring of real estate loans<br />

Matthias acts for European lenders (balance and non-balance sheet<br />
lenders) in their activities in the German lending market and on their<br />
portfolio management. On the investor’s side he represents various<br />
real estate funds on their (sometimes pan-European) financing structures<br />
including questions of German Investment Law and foreign<br />
investors buying German real estate. Recent transactions include the<br />

Dr. Wulf Meinel is a Managing Director of Carlyle Europe <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong><br />
since 2001. He is responsible for the acquisition and management of<br />
properties in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and large parts of Central<br />
Europe. The current European real estate portfolio of Carlyle exceeds<br />
€6 billion. Dr. Meinel studied law in Bonn and Freiburg. He earned<br />
a Ph.D. in European law and an M.A. in social science from the University<br />
of Freiburg, Germany. As a lawyer he is admitted to the bar in<br />
Frankfurt/Main. Dr. Meinel has over 15 years of real estate professional<br />
experience as investment manager, banker and lawyer.
