Saturday’s Liverpool & District Competition Ray Digman Trophy match had Bootle batting first on winning the toss and benefiting from partnerships of 124 for the third wicket by Tom Carr (78) and Stephen Parry (62), followed later by 102 for the fifth between Will Purser (64) and Michael Gill (58). The innings closed at an imposing 322–7 after the 45 overs. Northop Hall then slump to 43–6 after 19 overs in reply, already well adrift of the asking rate.
