Maghull hold on to
First Division status
MAGHULL’S unbeaten five game run
in the First Division of the Carlsberg
West Cheshire League came to an end
when Chester based outfit Blacon
came to Old Hall Field and returned
home with all three points courtesy of
a 4–2 victory.
Previously in midweek Maghull had
secured their First Division status
when they shared four goals at home
against fellow strugglers Upton.
But the pressure of having to win
matches showed in these last two
performances which fell well below

close to my heart.

learning curve and an excellent
grounding for me to learn as a
manager and I am so grateful for the
opportunity Marine gave me.

Marine chairman Paul Leary said: “It
was a sad day for me following the
joint decision by Kevin and I to part
ways after our final game of the
season on Saturday.
“I enjoyed working with him over
the last four seasons but in the end we
both have to consider the best thing to
do and our parting is completely
amicable.
“I thank Kevin for the work he has
put in at Marine in the last four
seasons.
“He has a real desire to succeed as a
football manager and I wish him well
for the future.”
