“It’s important to make
these people aware of what
they did.
“If it had been a child that
they hit, I’m sure he or she
would have been killed.
“I know they are kids and
they think they are having a
laugh but they need to be
made aware of the serious
consequences of what they
are doing and they need to be
more careful.
“To other people it’s just a
dog but I’m absolutely
devastated I’ve lost Ruby who
I loved very much. She was a
fab little dog everybody loved
her and it’s just really cruel
the way she was made to
suffer in the end.”

Carra set to sign
for Sky Sports

JAMIE Carragher is set to join the Sky Sports
punditry team for the 2013/14 season.
The 35–year–old, who will retire from
Liverpool Football Club at the end of the
current campaign, will team up with former
Anfield stars Jamie Redknapp and Graeme
Souness, and former Manchester United
full–back Gary Neville, to provide expert
analysis as part of the broadcaster’s football
coverage next season.
Carragher, who grew up in Bootle but now
lives in Blundellsands, has made more than
730 appearances during his career at
Liverpool.
He had been offered a number of punditry
jobs when he retires but the former England
defender said: “I watch Sky Sports all the time
and I’m a huge fan. I can’t wait to be part of
their coverage and work with the best in the
business.
“What Sky has done for football for over 20
years is incredible and I’m thrilled to be part of
their exciting plans for next season.
“I don’t think there could be a better move
for me to retire from one of the world’s best

Baby porpoise washed up on beach
A BABY sea mammal,
believed to be a porpoise, was
found washed up on Crosby
beach at the weekend.
Stuart Aitken was out
running past Crosby’s Iron
Men on Saturday morning
when he made the discovery.
He tweeted the picture from
his Twitter account
@AitkenStuart.
Porpoises can be found in
the Irish Sea and occasionally
in the southernmost North
Sea and English Channel.
