Chance to get funding
for ideas to improve
your neighbourhood
By Stephanie O’Connor
A LOCAL project based in Netherton is
calling on community groups,
area to come up with ideas on how to
make their neighbourhood a better
place.
The L30’s Million Big Local project is
looking for ideas on how to make the
area an even better place to live and
work and organisers are asking those
with ideas to apply for up to £1,000
worth of funding.
The Big Giveaway project will be
launched today (Wednesday, May 1)
and any expressions of interest must
be returned by Friday, May 31.
A spokesperson for the project said:
benefit the L30’s Million catchment
area.
“The total amount of funding set
aside for this pilot scheme is £5,000,
but based on the success of this the Big
Giveaway project will look to increase
this to £20,000 next year.
“The funding can be used for
anything that groups or individuals
think will improve the L30’s Million
catchment area no matter how small
the problem may seem, from little
things like painting a park bench to
addressing bigger issues around
