North of the existing st tion, this<br />
scen rio could ccommod te<br />
p rtment development over the<br />
lre dy sunken Underground<br />
tr cks nd redevelopment of<br />
the st tion to cont in other uses.<br />
To the south, the widening of<br />
the tr cks tow rds the depot nd sidings would<br />
e difficult to uild over, ut if this were possi le,<br />
then it could e decked over <strong>for</strong> the cre tion of<br />
new pu lic sp ce. L nd on either side, currently<br />
occupied y c r p rks, could then ccommod te<br />
high-density housing. Such development could<br />
include comprehensive refur ishment of some<br />
dil pid ted yet high qu lity, loc lly listed Art Deco<br />
nd Modernist p rtments long Morden Court nd<br />
<strong>London</strong> Ro d. The site of l rge superm rket c r<br />
p rk could e incorpor ted in this development.<br />
The signific nt pu lic sp ce cre ted y this intervention<br />
could e strongly themed, <strong>for</strong> ex mple<br />
s n re <strong>for</strong> ctive leisure pursuits with<br />
