Morden is comp ct, convenience-driven<br />
District Centre in southwest <strong>London</strong>. It is south<br />
<strong>London</strong>’s only ex mple of ‘Metrol nd’ 1920’s nd<br />

rriv l of the Underground in<br />

Though not considered unsuccessful<br />
y the Council, the town centre l cks<br />
distinctive menities nd ttr ctive pu lic sp ces.<br />

Development interest in Morden h s een<br />
rel tively limited in the p st dec de, yet there<br />
re different sites th t could e suit le <strong>for</strong><br />
future (re)development. Potenti l interventions<br />
include sp ces within the town centre locks,<br />
the reconfigur tion of the A24 <strong>London</strong> Ro d s<br />
‘Green Mile’ th t links the town centre to the two<br />
p rks, nd the potenti l of ir-rights development<br />
over the Underground tr cks, st tion, depot nd<br />
sidings. E ch of these could cre te housing nd<br />
other menities nd enh nce Morden’s distinctiveness<br />
