2. Intermittent sound<br />
If sound is intermittent:<br />
• If you are in a quiet place, move to where there is a little<br />
more noise. It may be the sound level is very low.<br />
• Turn the Sound Processor off and then on.<br />
• Change the batteries - make sure they are fresh, and of<br />
the same type and make.<br />
• Check the batteries are correctly inserted.<br />
• Check the battery terminals are clean.<br />
• Clean the protective cover on the base of the BTE<br />
battery holder or Mini BTE battery holder<br />
• Change your battery holder.<br />
• Check the coil and its cable for broken or twisted wires.<br />
• Check the coil is properly connected to the Processing<br />
Unit (a H3 message will tell you this)<br />
• Replace the coil.<br />
• Have a hearing person use the monitor earphones to<br />
check if sound is being received. Refer to the Monitor<br />
earphones section following for further information.<br />
• Change your Controller.<br />
3. Uncomfortable sound<br />
If the sound level is not comfortable, for example when the<br />
volume is low and the background noise is too high:<br />
• Check if the microphone sensitivity or volume level is as<br />
recommended.
