4.2 Mass-Spring-Damper System
A second elementary check on the MATLAB interface was conducted using a single-inputsingle-output
(SISO) mass-spring-damper system as an example. The primary goal for the
example was to provide students with a simple system to analyze using CIFER ® . The system used
is shown in Figure 4.2, and its transfer function was solved from the governing differential
equations in the form of Equation 4.1.
