4.2 Mass-Spring-Damper System<br />
A second elementary check on the <strong>MATLAB</strong> interface was conducted using a single-inputsingle-output<br />
(SISO) mass-spring-damper system as an example. The primary goal for the<br />
example was to provide students with a simple system to analyze using CIFER ® . The system used<br />
is shown in Figure 4.2, <strong>and</strong> its transfer function was solved from the governing differential<br />
equations in the form of Equation 4.1.<br />
