Main Idea Interpreter
ILS1B: I can identify and support the main idea in an artwork—transferable to a text.
A painting has a main idea. The artist uses pictures to tell you that idea. You need to infer the main
idea. You look at the whole painting. Then you figure out the artist’s main idea.
Look closely at the painting. What do you think the main idea is? Write it in the circle.
Then in the boxes put the parts of the painting that show you what the main idea is. You can draw
them or name them in the boxes.
