Expository Writing Organizer
ILS3B: I can organize and write a paragraph.
An expository writer uses words to explain or describe something.
Directions: Use this page to organize an expository paragraph.
Your paragraph will tell what someone would see if they saw a place.
First, choose the kind of place you will describe: rural OR urban
What is the main idea of your paragraph? What do you want people to understand about this kind of
place?
Then list parts of the place you will include in your paragraph.

Adjectives
Then for each part, list adjectives you will use to help people see what you are telling about the place.
Then decide how you will start your paragraph.

Then decide how you will end it.
I will end by telling
Then write your paragraph on a separate sheet of paper.
Then draw a picture to illustrate it. Show in your drawing the parts you tell about in your sentences.
