People <strong>and</strong> organization<br />

At <strong>Refresco</strong> we believe that our human capital <strong>and</strong> our business<br />

intelligence are our key assets. They give us our competitive<br />

edge in a market where a company like ours is to compete on<br />

many levels. Of course, our size brings economies of scale, but<br />

what really makes <strong>the</strong> difference is <strong>the</strong> competence of our<br />

people to catch market opportunities <strong>and</strong> streamline operational<br />

<strong>processes</strong> to perfection. As a cost lea<strong>de</strong>r, <strong>Refresco</strong> continuously<br />

needs to make <strong>processes</strong> smarter <strong>and</strong> more flexible. Innovative<br />

production lines <strong>and</strong> systems can be bought by our competitors<br />

too, but it is our production staff who work in <strong>the</strong> most efficient<br />

<strong>and</strong> effective way possible. Having <strong>the</strong> right people <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

right <strong>processes</strong> is of fundamental importance to our success.<br />

<strong>Refresco</strong> is led by a small team of enthusiastic, entrepreneurial<br />

managers with a very performance­ <strong>and</strong> result­driven approach.<br />

Each team member has a high level of in<strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>nce <strong>and</strong> free­<br />

dom to execute individual i<strong>de</strong>as that contribute to company<br />

<strong>results</strong>. What connects <strong>the</strong>m is <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>de</strong>ep un<strong>de</strong>rst<strong>and</strong>ing of <strong>the</strong><br />

business <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir can­do attitu<strong>de</strong>. They make <strong>de</strong>cisions based<br />

The <strong>Refresco</strong> organization is based on strong <strong>and</strong> empowered<br />

profit­responsible business units, of which <strong>the</strong>re are currently five<br />

in different geographical locations. In compliance with our business<br />

philosophy, we keep <strong>the</strong> lines between <strong>Refresco</strong> Group <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> business units simple <strong>and</strong> short, avoiding red tape. By doing<br />

so, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Refresco</strong> Group management team can closely gui<strong>de</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />

support <strong>the</strong> unit management to guarantee quick <strong>de</strong>cision­making.<br />

In 2010, <strong>the</strong> average age of <strong>Refresco</strong> employees was 42.<br />

Following acquisitions, <strong>the</strong> average number of employees in<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Refresco</strong> Group increased from 2,318 to 2,527 full­time<br />

equivalents.
