Social Contributions cont’dDec 2006• In conjunction with the Christmas Celebration, Putrajaya Marriott Hotel had a month long charity drive calledthe “Make a Kid Beary Beary Happy” drive on 1/12/06 – 1/1/07 where little teddy bears are sold atRM10/- each and proceeds from the sale were donated to Rumah Shalom, Rumah Charis, House of Joy andRumah Faith.• The Yayasan’s Young Achievers’ Awards ceremony was held at <strong>IOI</strong> Research Centre on 7 December 2006whereby outstanding scholastic achievers in the UPSR, PMR, SPM and STPM category were given awardsin the categories of gold, silver, bronze and commendation.Jan 2007• In doing our part as a caring society, Yayasan made a donation to the Yayasan Nanyang Press whereby themoney collected will be channelled to the Johor afflicted flood victims to rebuild their school.• As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) effort, Palm Garden Hotel held its yearly Blood DonationDrive in collaboration with the National Blood Centre, to encourage staff and general public to donate bloodand save a life.Feb 2007• Yayasan presented scholarships and educational grants amounted to RM216,000 to eight students during theaward presentation ceremony held at the Palm Garden Hotel, <strong>IOI</strong> Resort, Putrajaya. The scholarships covertheir course fees and living expenses during the entire course.• Primary school education is an important aspect of human resource development and community development.In view of this, the Yayasan made a donation of RM100,000 for the construction of the new school buildingof SJK Chung Hua Tudan, Miri.• <strong>IOI</strong> embarked on an educational programme by funding the curriculum infrastructure development of theEthnic Child Education Centre in Sarawak, through its charity arm, Yayasan.
