Other Information cont’dPENALTIESThe particulars of penalties imposed on the Group by the relevant regulatory bodies during the financial year under review arefollows:Name of Company Penalty imposed by the regulatory bodies RemarksIOI Corporation Bhd (“IOI”)IOI was fined RM4,000 for 2 offences underRegulation 3(1) and 10(2) of the EnvironmentalQuality (Scheduled Waste) Regulations 2005.IOI’s Baturong Palm Oil Mill was found bythe Department of Environment (“DOE”) ofSabah to have failed to explain the categoryand quantity of the scheduled waste and toproperly label the scheduled waste. Remedialaction has been implemented to prevent therecurrence of this problem.Ladang Sabah Sdn Bhd (“LSSB”)LSSB was fined RM30,000 by SandakanSession Court for an offence under Section16(1) of the Environmental Quality Act 1974(“EQA”).LSSB’s Ladang Sabah Palm Oil Mill was foundby DOE, Sabah to have discharged effluentwhich exceeded the limits for parameters ofeffluent stipulated under the EQA. Remedialaction has been implemented to prevent therecurrence of this problem.LSSB was fined RM38,000 by SandakanSession Court for an offence under Section16(1) of the EQA.LSSB’s Ladang Sabah Palm Oil Mill was foundby DOE, Sabah to have processed fresh fruitbunches exceeded the approved capacity.LSSB has applied to DOE for the increaseof approved capacity and the approval ispending.Mayvin Incorporated Sdn Bhd(“MISB”)MISB was fined RM22,000 by SandakanSession Court for an offence under Section16(1) of the EQA.MISB’s Mayvin Palm Oil Mill was found by theDOE, Sabah to have discharged effluent whichexceeded the limits for parameters of effluentstipulated under the EQA.
