Profile of DirectorsTAN SRI DATO’ LEE SHIN CHENGExecutive ChairmanMalaysian, age 68Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng was first appointed to the Board on21 July 1981. As Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, heactively oversees the operations of the Group. He is an entrepreneur withconsiderable experience in the plantation and property developmentindustries. In recognition of Tan Sri’s immense contributions to the evolvingneeds and aspirations of the property industry in Malaysia, Tan Sriwas bestowed the singular honour of FIABCI Malaysia Property Manof the Year 2001 Award. In February 2002, Tan Sri was conferred theHonorary Doctorate Degree in Agriculture by Universiti Putra Malaysiain recognition of his contributions to the palm oil industry. Tan Sri is alsoactive in providing his advice and guidance to a large number of industrygroupings, associations and social organisations. He serves as, amongothers, a Board Member of Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Adviser tothe KL & Selangor Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.Tan Sri is a member of Remuneration Committee of the Company. He isalso the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IOI PropertiesBerhad.Tan Sri is the father of Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor and the brother of Lee ChengLeang, both Executive Directors of the Company.Tan Sri is deemed in conflict of interest with the Company by virtue of hisinterest in certain privately-owned companies which are also involved inproperty development business. However, these privately-owned companiesare not in direct competition with the business of the Company due to thedifferent locality of the developments. Profile of Directors cont’dDATO’ LEE YEOW CHORExecutive DirectorMalaysian, age 41Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor was first appointed to the Board on 25 April 1996.He is the Group Executive Director of IOI Group of companies whichare involved in four core business sectors, namely oil palm plantations,oleochemical manufacturing, specialty fats and oils and lastly, propertydevelopment and investment.Dato’ Lee is a barrister from Gray’s Inn, London and holds a LLB (Honours)from King’s College London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance andAccounting from London School of Economics. Prior to joining IOI Groupas a General Manager in 1994, he served in various capacities in theAttorney General’s Chambers and the Malaysian Judiciary service forabout four years. His last posting was as a Magistrate.Dato’ Lee also serves as a National Council Member of the Malaysian RealEstate & Housing Developers Association (REHDA), a National ExecutiveCouncil Member and Chairman of Marketing and Promotion MainCommittee in the Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) and a Board ofTrustees member in the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC).He is also an Executive Director of IOI Properties Berhad.Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor is the eldest son of Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng.Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor is deemed in conflict of interest with the Company byvirtue of his interest in certain privately-owned companies which are alsoinvolved in property development business. However, these privately-ownedcompanies are not in direct competition with the business of the Companydue to the different locality of the developments.
