<strong>Marriage</strong> In<strong>Islam</strong>“And <strong>of</strong> His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may f<strong>in</strong>d tranquility<strong>in</strong> them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed <strong>in</strong> that are signs for a peoplewho give thought?” [30:21]Allah created the bond <strong>of</strong> marriage between a man and a woman and this is the concept <strong>of</strong>marriage <strong>in</strong> <strong>Islam</strong>.“It isHe who has created you from a s<strong>in</strong>gle person (Adam), and (Then) He has created from Him hiswife [Hawwa (Eve)], <strong>in</strong> order that He might enjoy the pleasure <strong>of</strong> liv<strong>in</strong>g with her. When He hadsexual relation with her, she became pregnant and she carried it about lightly. Then when itbecame heavy, they both <strong>in</strong>voked Allâh, their Lord (say<strong>in</strong>g): "If you give us a Sâlih (good InEvery aspect) child, we shall <strong>in</strong>deed be among the grateful." [7:189]The Prophet (SAW) said, “Whoever marries has completed half <strong>of</strong> his faith, so let him have fear<strong>of</strong> Allah <strong>in</strong> rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g half <strong>of</strong> religion.” [Bayhaqi]
