Alliance, Ohio —The Bombers made their 16th NCAA playoff<br />
appearance, losing 42-18 to top-ranked Mount Union in a<br />
first-round game.<br />
Junior quarterback Dan Juvan set a single-game Ithaca<br />
playoff record, throwing for 318 yards. He completed a pair<br />
of touchdown passes to junior tight end Brian Weverbergh.<br />
Weverbergh caught a five-yard pass with 26 seconds left in<br />
the first half and a three-yard scoring pass early in the fourth<br />
quarter. Juvan raised his season total to 2,621 yards – good<br />
for second on the program’s all-time list.<br />
Senior running back Jamie Donovan scored the game’s<br />
first touchdown; Donovan’s touchdown was the first given up<br />
all year by Mount Union’s starting defense. The touchdown<br />
raised his career total to a school-record 282 points. Donovan<br />
also raised his school-record career totals of 3,844 yards, 732<br />
rushes, and 46 rushing touchdowns.<br />
Senior wide receiver Brian Hogan caught seven passes for<br />
131 yards. Weverbergh finished with 64 yards on five catches;<br />
and his 44 catches and 580 receiving yards on the season were<br />
both the best ever by a Bomber tight end.<br />
Senior strong safety Ryan Terlecki led the Bomber defense<br />
with 11 tackles and matched a career-high with three tackles<br />
for loss. He intercepted a pass to end Mount Union’s first possession<br />
and raised his career total to 240 tackles, tying him for<br />
13th on the Bombers’ all-time list.<br />
Freshman linebacker Lonson Becker recorded a personalbest<br />
11 tackles (three for loss). Senior linebacker Mike Nowak<br />
recorded 10 tackles. Senior free safety Charlie Stephens and<br />
junior linebacker John Scanlon added nine apiece.<br />
