The LSE Identity Project <strong>Report</strong>: June 2005 19Since that time, there has been a single telephone conversation between representativesof the Identity Cards Unit and the LSE, but at the time of publication the two partieshave not met.Alternative model consultationOn 5th June the LSE published the draft blueprint of its alternative national identitycards model. The purpose of this exercise was to provide an opportunity for publicdebate and input. A number of constructive responses were received, and these havebeen taken into account in the final publication of the model in this report.Ongoing WorkThis report does not mark the end of the Identity Project, but rather another milestone inthe development of a preferred architecture for the National Identity scheme. The LSEteam will continue to develop its ideas, and there will be further Expert Panel meetingsover the coming months.
