EXERCISE & LEISURESUB- <strong>COMMITTEE</strong>INTRODUCTIONThe Exercise & Leisure Sub-Committeehad done extremely well for the year 2009.With the increased rate of participation,the Sub-Committee had to start moreclasses in order to satisfy the veryactive members.HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAROne good example would be the expansion of the Pilatesclass from one morning class to two morning classes andone evening class. The most popular exercise class was HathaYoga. Three out of four Yoga classes were fully enrolled,including the Saturday Yoga class conducted in bothEnglish & Mandarin. There was an increase in the number ofparticipants for Bodyworks Aerobics and H.A.B.T Programmefor Women.The other on-going classes and activities – <strong>Chinese</strong>Calligraphy, Taiji Quan Advance, <strong>Chinese</strong> Brush Painting,Taiji Qigong and Taiji Chen Style continued to receive strongsupport from the loyal participants of the various classes.The Exercise & Leisure Sub-Committee also embarkedon three new activities – Belly Dance, Rhumbarobicsand Taiji Quan 24 Movements. These 3 classes had beenfully enrolled.The Karaoke Singing Class had maintained a participationrate of 24 members. These members did their part for charityduring the “Laps for Charity” in May 2009 by performingtwo melodious tunes, organised a “Charity Manicure” whichwas held in the <strong>Club</strong> to help raise funds in conjunctionwith the celebration of the <strong>Club</strong>’s Centennial Year, and alsoperforming at Henderson CC, a charity event organised bythe Lions <strong>Club</strong>s International.Under Leisure, a Photography Workshop was organised forthe members and it was well-received. Members lookedforward to more of such activities.Last but not least, the Annual Exercise Get-Together Dinner,held on 6 February 2009, saw a turnout of 60 members thatincluded participants and instructors from various Exercise& Leisure activities.
