REDEVELOPMENT<strong>COMMITTEE</strong>INTRODUCTIONWith the completion of Phase2 of the <strong>Club</strong>’s redevelopmentproject, the RedevelopmentCommittee’s focus will shift torevitalising and rejuvenating theRecreation Complex in Phase 3 ofthe Redevelopment Project.HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEARThe Arrival Pavilion obtained its Temporary OccupationPermit (TOP) on 7 April.With the exception of the 4th level, all facilities within theArrival Pavilion commenced operation with a ceremony forthe unveiling of the sculpture “Soaring to Greater Heights”by <strong>Club</strong> President, Mr Edwin Lee on 28 April.The Arrival Pavilion was completed within the approvedbudget of $16 million. The facilities at the Arrival Pavilioninclude the following:FIL will commence operations of its new spa at the <strong>Club</strong> byApril 2010.As reported during the 94th Annual General Meeting, the<strong>Club</strong> learnt during the construction of the Arrival Pavilionthat the current boundary walls shared with our neighboursat 19 and 23 Amber Road respectively have encroached ontothe <strong>Club</strong>’s land. While the Committee was able to resolve thematter quickly with our neighbour at 23 Amber Road, thediscussion with the owner of 19 Amber Road is still on-going.Nevertheless, the Committee hopes to regularise the matteras soon as possible.• Front Office, waiting and reading area at the spacious andair-conditioned main lobby;• Reading cum Study Room that overlooks the SportsComplex and its swimming pools;• Tung Lok Classics Restaurant that has a seating capacity ofapproximately 200 persons offering a panoramic view ofboth the Recreation Complex and Sports Complex;• The <strong>Club</strong>’s Administrative Offices.On 4 November, the Arrival Pavilion was officially openedby Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, MrWong Kan Seng. The official opening was followed by theCentennial Charity Dinner which culminated a year-longcelebration of the <strong>Club</strong>’s 100th Anniversary.The <strong>Club</strong>’s effort to find a suitable and established spaoperator for the 4th level of the Arrival Pavilion finallypaid off with the signing of the Tenancy Agreement withFabulous Image Lifestyle (FIL) which operates a chain ofbeauty and spa outlets locally. We are pleased to report that8
