WATER POLOSUB- COMMITTEEINTRODUCTION2009 was another fruitful year for theSub-Committee while it continuedthe work of reviving the population ofWater Polo players in CSC. As part ofthe recruitment programme, the FlippaBall, a junior version of Water Polo wasintroduced to the members for thefirst time.HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEARYear 2009 was a good year for the Water Polo Section as theskills of our players were brought up to the next level underthe professional guidance of our new coach, Mr Lee SaiMeng. He is also a coach for the Singapore Women’s WaterPolo National Team.To promote and cultivate interest among the junior Clubmembers, the Water Polo Sub-Committee held a CSC WaterPolo Flippa Ball Trial over the weekend on the 5 & 6 September2009 at the CSC beginner’s pool. This junior version of WaterPolo is a fun team game designed to introduce kids of 12years and below, the fundamentals of Water Polo. The eventreceived an overwhelming response on both days withan average of 25 participants for each day. Everyone hadunbeatable fun and the profile of Water Polo in the Club wasraised a couple of notches.LOOKING AHEADThe Water Polo Sub-Committee will focus on the recruitmentof young and talented players to join the team.
