IPv6 Addresses: Representation of addresses
● The preferred form is
x:x:x:x:x:x:x:x
● the 'x's are the hexadecimal values of the eight 16-bit pieces of the address
● Written as eight groups of four hexadecimal digits with colons as separators
● Examples:
8000:0000:0000:0000:0123:4567:89AB:CDEF
