<strong>Guidance</strong> concerning <strong>Air</strong> Navigation in and above the <strong>NAT</strong> <strong>MNPS</strong>A ATTACHMENT 6ATTACHMENT 6 – NORTH ATLANTIC FLIGHT LEVEL ALLOCATION SCHEMEFlight Level AvailabilityIntroductionFollowing statistical analysis and discussions between the <strong>NAT</strong> ATSUs, the North Atlantic Flight LevelAllocation System has been agreed to:(i)(ii)(iii)Utilise additional levels, made available by RVSM expansion.Standardise the flight level profiles available for eastbound traffic, originating in the NewYork/ Santa Maria areas, during the eastbound flow, with a view to incorporating thefunctionality of ADT links.Ensure that economic profiles are available for westbound aircraft routing from ReykjavikOACC.The procedures entail the establishment of a Night Datum Line, south of which is reserved principally fortraffic originating in New York/ Santa Maria.The procedures entail the establishment of a North Datum Line, on or north of which is reserved for laterunning westbound traffic from Reykjavik to Gander.<strong>Air</strong>craft Operators are advised to Flight Plan using the flight levels specified in this document, relative totheir particular flight(s).ProceduresGeneralThese procedures involve the dedication of particular levels for use by Eastbound traffic and the allocation ofthese levels to specific OACC’s by the use of a Night Datum line.The westbound OTS signal will be published using FL310 to FL390. Gander will publish the eastbound OTSsignal using FL310 to FL400. However, FL310 will only be used for “New York Tracks” {Note to <strong>NAT</strong>DMO – there needs to be a cross reference to the section titled “Eastbound Traffic Originating in NewYork/Santa Maria, during the eastbound OTS” – in particular, the 4 th paragraph}The activation times of the westbound OTS shall be published as 1130 to 1900 at 30W.The activation times of the eastbound OTS shall be published as 0100 to 0800 at 30W.Delegated Opposite Direction Levels (ODLs)Gander will accept FL310 as a westbound level H24 subject to eastbound CAR/SAM traffic, as described in{Note to <strong>NAT</strong> DMO – there needs to be a cross reference to the section titled “Eastbound TrafficOriginating in New York/Santa Maria, during the eastbound OTS}During the eastbound OTS, a static Datum Line, known as the Night Datum Line, is established with thefollowing co-ordinates:45N030W 49N020W SOMAX KENUK.<strong>NAT</strong> <strong>Doc</strong> <strong>007</strong> 120 Edition 2010
