Для менедуже важливо, що з ними познайомлятьсяй не байдужі до цього унікальногопласту української фольклорноїспадщини і в Канаді. Ознайомившисьіз останніми числами , хотів бизапропонувати часопису 3-4 статтіпро українських жінок-художниць, анасамперед про прекрасного сценографа,відому в усьому світі за гастрольнимивиставами Національноїопери Марію Левитську.Пані Оксано, хочу звернутисячерез Вас до керівництва Ліґи УкраїнськихКатолицьких Жінок Канадиось із яким проханням. Видана мноювласним коштом книжка українськихрелігійних казок «Райський сад» накладом500 прим. розійшлася блискавичноі викликала справді великийінтерес читачів з уваги, що це було,власне, перше за всю історію нашоїписемності видання релігійних казок,легенд та передань для широкого загалу.До 1917 року їх забороняв додруку російський Синод, після 1917 —і аж до Незалежності — більшовицькаідеологія, про що я детально розповіву передмові до книжки. Зараззбираю кошти на перевидання цієїкниги з надією, щоб вона дійшла доширшого читацького загалу. Потрібнозібрати щонайменше 2.000 амер.доларів. Буду дуже вдячний, якщоЛіґа Українських Католицьких Жінокрозгляне питання про можливістьсприяння цьому виданню.Надсилаю Вам відновлений часопис«Український церковно-історичнийжурнал», який я редагую. Із великим зацікавленнямя прочитала статтю про Львів —ті всі місця такі свіжі у моїй пам’яті,бо ми з чоловіком недавно повернулисяз України, де перебували шістьтижнів, але більшість часу саме утому чудовому Львові.Христина Татарська, ТоронтоAbout a year ago,ran a very interesting article on theBlesseds Laurentia and Olympia.These Blesseds were part of the groupof 25, sometimes referred to as NicholasCharnetsky and companions, whomour Holy Father, Pope John Paul IIproclaimed Blessed in Ukraine on June27, 2001. By taking this step, the Poperecognized their martyrdom as fulfillingthe requirements to attain the firstlevel on the road to the official title ofsainthood here on earth. Although inour hearts, we already see these Blessedsas saints (as they no doubt are), asI understand it, for the Church to officiallyrecognize them as saints willrequire some miracles.We indeed are blessed in havingthe ‘crucial elements’ of the Blessedsof the Sisters of St. Joseph here inCanada. In addition, a shrine atSt. Joseph’s Ukrainian CatholicChurch in Winnipeg is home to thebody of Blessed Vasyl Velychkovsky.Sister Tarsykia of the SSMI is includedin the group, too. (The foundressof the Sister Servants of MaryImmaculate, Josaphata Horodenska,also has this title, having received itearlier through a miracle.) Blessed Fr.Emilian Kowcz (not part of the groupof 25, having died in the Nazi Germanconcentration camps) was the priestfather of Anna Maria Kowcz Baran, along-time member of the UCWLC.Are there others whose stories havelifted the hearts of people here in Canada?Would it be possible to contactknowledgeable people to give us ongoingbios of the many other Blesseds?And will there be more to come? As Iunderstand it, these names were puttogether very hurriedly, as ones thatwere most easily verified.We need to pray—sincerely andwith great faith—so that these peoplecan be recognized as Saints here onearth through miracles.
