Let us pray to the Lord for her repose.Eternal Peace Patricia Warren, HLMSeptember 21, 1923 – June 5, <strong>2007</strong>It is with sadness that St. Basil’sBranch, Winnipeg, MB announcesthe passing of Honorary Life Member,Patricia Warren.Pat was a very active Leaguemember in three parishes beginningin 1954 when St. Michael’s<strong>UCWLC</strong> Branch was organized.She served on many <strong>UCWLC</strong> positionsincluding Financial Secretary,Branch, Regional and ArcheparchialPresident, Vice President onNational Executive, Constitution &By-Laws Chairperson on the WinnipegArcheparchy until her resignationin 2005 due to ill health.Pat’s greatest accomplishmentwas in 1965 when she prepared asix-week course for Catechistswhich was approved by the lateMetropolitan Maxim Hermaniuk.This was the first workshop providingtraining in Catechetical Ministry.It was a great success.In 1980 the National Executivebestowed Pat with the HonoraryLife Membership. Pat was willingand pleased to serve as a consultantand we greatly appreciated herknowledge, dedication and love tothe <strong>UCWLC</strong>.Olga Twerdun,St. Basil’s Branch, Winnipeg Anne (Kohut) Jacyszyn1924-<strong>2007</strong>Born in the Ivano-Frankivsk region,Anne, a lively five-year-old,arrived in Toronto in 1929 with herparents and younger sister, Mary.In her youth, she loved Ukrainiandancing, the mandolin and gymnastics.A member of St. Demetrius<strong>UCWLC</strong> since 1969, Anne’sfriendly, out-going personalitymade her ideal to head up the SpiritualCommittee for 15 years. Shephoned to cheer up ailing members,sent get-well and sympathy cardsand requested Divine Liturgies.Every year she encouraged ladiesto join her in the Annual Retreat inAncaster.Anne supported our publicationof Iryna Senyk’s book “White Asterof Love” and modelled a Senyk‘original’ in the fashion show at itslaunch. In 1999, when Iryna Senykwas honoured as a Heroine of theWorld, Anne joined the group fromSt. D’s <strong>UCWLC</strong> who travelled toRochester, N.Y, to applaud Iryna asshe received her award.Anne volunteered at the UkrainianCanadian Care Centre. She receivedher gold pin as a canvasserfor the Canadian Cancer Societyand often join in to make pyrohyfor parish functions. Anne receivedher 30-year <strong>UCWLC</strong> membershippin in 2000.With her husband, John, shetravelled to Ukraine many timesand totally supported him when hearranged to have a church built inhis family village. Together theyrejoiced when they witnessed thelocal bishop bless it in 2003.It was her faith that helped heraccept the tragic death of her onlyson, Harry, in 2002. He left her twograndchildren and baby Julie, agreat granddaughter.Anne lost her battle with canceron May 23, <strong>2007</strong>.Lillian Dzurman-YurykNasha Doroha fall/<strong>2007</strong> 25
