Nearly 150delegates and guests attended. The Congressproceedings were published in the last issue of. Тепер подаємо важливізмістові теми і погляди учасників.ПереглядХХІІ Конґресу ЛУКЖКOne hundred thirty-two delegatesand ten guests gathered at theHoliday Inn Select in Toronto fromJune 28 to July 1 to take part in theXXII Congress of the UkrainianCatholic Women’s of Leaguewith the theme “Faith in Action.”The official Congress openingincluded Moleben, celebrated byHis Grace Metropolitan LawrenceHuculak, OSBM, was assisted byBishop-elect, Fr. Ken Nowakowskiand assisted by Spiritual Advisors,Fr. John Barszczyk (National),Fr. M. Kowalchyk (Edmonton)and Fr. P. Dvirnik (Toronto). Greetingsincluded Yaroslaw Sokolykon behalf of the National UCBC,Marika Szkambara from theWorld Federation of UkrainianWomen’s Organizations, SisterJunia Kunanec, SSMI and SisterTheodosia, Sisters of St. Joseph.Shirley Lisowski, MC, thenintroduced the guest speaker, IrenaGaladza who spoke on the theme“Faith in Action”: our faith shouldnot be something we don on Sundaysor at UCWLC meetings; itneeds to be displayed every daythrough involvement in issues thataffect or are affected by our faithsuch as abortion, euthanasia, etc.The next day began with aDivine Liturgy celebrated by HisGrace and attending Bishops andSpiritual Advisors, followed bythe ceremonial procession ofUCWLC flags, remembrance ofdeceased members, calling and in-troduction of the Presidium, greetingsfrom Metropolitan Lawrence,Bishop Stephen Chmilar andFr. Ivan Barszczyk. This was followedby the usual adoption ofRules of Order, reports of variousCongress Committees, the Minutesof the XXI Congress, the report ofthe outgoing National Presidentand questions and discussion onthe reports. Olia Karaim, TorontoEparchial President, presented theMembership Growth Trophy tothe Eparchy of Saskatoon.The Congress theme was exploredby Fr.
