Three backrow v three backrow - set up max 6m apartand 3m wide. On coach’s call - defenders roll a ball towards the attacking no.8.No.8 controls the ball with feet and manoeuvres it into position ready to be picked up.Coach calls RED, YELLOW or BLUE - No.8 then picks up ball and accelerates towards therelevant cone. Defenders (blue) can defend once the ball is picked up.Attacking flankers link with the No.8 to manipulate the defence and ultimately make aline-break and score.Practice Progression / RegressionsRegress - Reduce the number of defenders - allows the players more space to attackProgress - Challenge the no.8 skills at the base of the scrum by feeding the ball indifferently - grubber kick.Progress- Add in a no.9 for each side.Practice Progression / RegressionsChange the ratio of defenders to attackers to increase or reduce difficulty for the attack.107
