1 Introduction1.1 About the manualThis is the manual of the program Menyanthes. In this manual, the various functions ofMenyanthes are discussed. Menyanthes is a program for time series data management,visualization, statistical analysis, and time series analysis with the PIRFICT model.Only topics directly related to the use of Menyanthes are described. For a detailed descriptionof the theory on time series analysis in general, we refer to [Box and Jenkins, 1970; Hipel andMcLeod, 1994; Ziemer et al., 1998; Ljung, 1999]. A detailed description of the PIRFICT time seriesmodel and methods specific for Menyanthes is preserved in [Von Asmuth et al., 2002, VonAsmuth and Bierkens, 2005, Von Asmuth et al., 2006, Von Asmuth et al., 2008].The program is available in two versions: a Windows executable version and a p-file versionfor use with MATLAB. A dump of possible errors is now made to file[Installdir]\errordump.txt.- New, robust import routines. Menyanthes nowautomatically recognizes the file format.- The extension of Menyanthes files is changed to *.men.Mat-files can still be imported, but no longer created.- New import option.
