Social investments in Zambia are primarily<br />
managed by The <strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> Africa Foundati<strong>on</strong>,<br />
which implements more than 130 programs in 32<br />
countries, investing more than $25 milli<strong>on</strong> in African<br />
communities to date. Zambia is included in a number<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Foundati<strong>on</strong>’s Africa-wide programs, including<br />
a partnership with USAID <strong>on</strong> water access<br />

water and watershed resources for domestic and<br />

improved community sources of water and<br />
sanitati<strong>on</strong> services<br />
Increase instituti<strong>on</strong>al capacity and investments in<br />
basic infrastructure<br />
Foster improved behaviors in human sanitati<strong>on</strong> and<br />
hygiene for positive health impacts<br />
Recommendati<strong>on</strong>s for follow-up acti<strong>on</strong><br />
Community: Foster sustainable communities<br />
through ec<strong>on</strong>omic development, philanthropy and<br />

Zambia is also part of <strong>the</strong> Africa Network for<br />
Children Orphaned and at Risk (ANCHOR), which<br />
The <strong>Coca</strong>-<strong>Cola</strong> Africa Foundati<strong>on</strong> supports. Formed<br />
in resp<strong>on</strong>se to <strong>the</strong> massive and worsening orphan<br />
crisis due to HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa,<br />
ANCHOR aims to bolster and extend <strong>the</strong> work d<strong>on</strong>e<br />
by communities that care for and support a total of<br />
146,000 orphaned and vulnerable children across<br />
Africa. Finally, <strong>the</strong> Company supports a number<br />
of malaria programs in Zambia and across Africa,<br />
providing insecticide- treated bed-nets to milli<strong>on</strong>s of<br />
families and supporting <strong>the</strong> first World Malaria Day.<br />
