This design helps maximize air-flow by giving intake air an efficient, easy path into thecarburetor. This resulted in an increase of two to five horsepower in S&S test bikes. This kitwill produce even more horsepower if performance cams and exhaust system have beeninstalled. Reduced restriction of airflow may require that the stock carburetor be rejettedto maintain the correct fuel air mixture. 1926-1984 Vintage ModelsFlathead Power ® by S&S ®CamshaftsFor 1936-’47 OHV Big TwinsFlathead Power offers several cams for 1936-’47 OHV big twins. The KN420 cams are usedin the Flathead Power KN93 engines, and the KN421 can be used in large displacementknucklehead engine projects. The third cam for knucklehead engines is the KN346, whichis a stock replacement cam for 74" knucklehead engines. KN420K Cam: A specialty cam used in our KN Kone engine. A direct copy of ourFlathead Power 420 cam grind, the 420K is designed to fit our 70-99 KN-Kone crankcaseand KN-Kone gearcover. Complete with the mached snout to mate up to 70-99 stockstyle ignition system components.KN421 Cam: The KN421 cam is intended for large displacement engines such as the 103"engines produced by the original Flathead Power company. .420" valve lift with longerduration than the KN420. The crankcase bearing end of these camsis ground to the correct diameter for a needle bearing.
