They are still popular todaybecause of they produce good power for less money. Stock bore strokers reuse most of the components of the stock engine,and don't require expensive crankcase machining so installation is also economical. Stroker kits are available for knuckles,pans, and shovels in 84" to 88" displacement. By far the 84" stroker is the most popular and is available as a Hot Set UpKit.
