TIFFIN MOTORHOMES –ALLEGRO RED® Chapter 4 MAJOR APPLIANCES & ACCESSORIESMicrowave/(Optional)Convection OvenThe Allegro RED contains a microwave range [convention feature, optional] (Figure 4-4). All microwave ranges operate on 120-volt ACelectrical power, supplied either by the external electrical hookup orby the onboard electrical generator in the motor home.Touch-pad controls on the microwave range are used for operatingFigure 4-4. Microwave/Convection Rangethe range (i.e., cooking temperature, mode, power level, and cookingtime)—see the product owner’s manual for specific instructions. Forbasic operating instructions, care, and maintenance for the proper use of the microwave/(and optional convection)range, please consult the specific manual in the Owner’s Information Package.Air-Filtration FanIn the Allegro RED, the “exhaust” or air-filtration fan is built into the microwave and its function is to filter the air andexhaust to the outside. This range hood is equipped with a multi-speed fan and a light for convenient use. The hoodshould be used whenever any cooking is performed to filter any airborne cooking residues and heated air.Additionally, the range hood can be used for supplemental filtration of other odors and gases including tobaccosmoke, candle fumes, and related vapors. The range hood contains filters, which can be removed and cleaned orreplaced to assure sustained normal operation. Consult the particular owner’s manual contained in the Owner’sInformation Package.Oven and Cook TopThe Allegro RED is equipped with a three-burner recessed cook top (Figure 4-5)and oven [optional: cook top only]. The oven has a piezoelectric ignition source, rather than a pilot light, to start the oven. To light the burners, turn “on”the gas control knob, wait a couple of seconds, then push the red DSI (directsparkignition) button until a flame appears. If theburner does not start after a fewattempts, discontinue the process, let the released gas dissipate, then try theprocess again. The burner knobs operate in a counter-clockwise (CCW) mannerand must be gently pushed inwards as they are being turned. If the oven doesn’t have a piezoelectric ignition source, light the oven by pushingFigure 4-5. Cook Top and Oveninward on the oven control knob and rotating it CCW to the “pilot on” position, then light the oven pilot light located at the back left-hand side of the oven burner—this may take a few seconds untilthe air in that line is purged and replaced with the LP gas. Do not attempt to adjust the oven pilot light as it has beenfactory-adjusted and factory-set. To extinguish the oven pilot light when use of the oven is concluded, push inwardson the oven control knob and turn that knob clockwise (CW) to the “off” position.4-4
