TIFFIN MOTORHOMES –ALLEGRO <strong>RED</strong>® Chapter 4 MAJOR APPLIANCES & ACCESSORIESHome Theater SystemThe motor home has a home theater system (Figure 4-13) which offers truesurround sound for the televisionand also when DVD programs are viewed featuring the Dolby Surround Soundsystem. As this home theatersystem offers many entertainment options, it is worthwhile to read themanual thoroughly before attempting extensive use of this system. Thissystem will also play CDs and MP3 disks, among other media.Figure 4-14. Optional Home TheaterSystemCable & Telephone JackThe <strong>Allegro</strong> <strong>RED</strong> contains an exterior cable jack and also an exterior telephonehookup (Figure 4-15) in an outside storage compartment. This telephoneconnection permits the owner to access external telephone services (e.g., RV parks)so that these services are available for use within the motor home proper.Within the motor home there are several telephone jacks (e.g., bedroom, livingroom) for connecting telephone(s), as desired.Water HeaterFigure 4-15. Cable & Telephone JackWarningDO NOT APPLY 110 VAC POWER to or LIGHT the water heater until after the waterheater is filled with water and the water lines and heater tank are purged of anytrapped air. Failure to do so will damage the water heater and may cause additionaldamage to the motor home.Before the water heater is to be used, first fill the fresh water system and purge the water lines to and from the waterheater by opening all the hot-water faucets until water steadily flows from each one and no “spurting” or “hissing”sounds are further heard. The water heater holds either 6 or 10 gallons of water and uses either the LP gas system orthe 120-volt AC electrical system to operate the heater.4-7
