DAN – Your <strong>Dive</strong> Safety Associati<strong>on</strong>To earn this provider recogniti<strong>on</strong>, divers must hold current certificati<strong>on</strong>sin the following DAN Training courses (or their equivalents): OxygenFirst Aid for Scuba <strong>Diving</strong> Injuries; Advanced Oxygen First Aid for Scuba<strong>Diving</strong> Injuries; First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries; <strong>and</strong>Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for Scuba <strong>Diving</strong>.<strong>Dive</strong>rs wanting the DES designati<strong>on</strong> must also hold a rescue-level certificati<strong>on</strong>or higher with a scuba training agency <strong>and</strong> current CPR <strong>and</strong> firstaid certificati<strong>on</strong>s.DAN TravelAssistprovides upto $100,000emergency medicalevacuati<strong>on</strong>assistance for anyinjury or illnessincurred at least 50miles from home.The DES rating also includes an Instructor rating for DAN Instructors <strong>and</strong>an Instructor Trainer rating for DAN Trainers. These two levels requireholding DAN Instructor <strong>and</strong>/or Trainer credentials while dem<strong>on</strong>stratingadditi<strong>on</strong>al support of the DAN Training missi<strong>on</strong> by c<strong>on</strong>ducting a minimumnumber of DAN courses in each of the required DES comp<strong>on</strong>ents.DAN Online — www.<strong>Dive</strong>rsAlertNetwork.orgDAN’s website <strong>on</strong> the World Wide Web provides a wealth of informati<strong>on</strong><strong>on</strong> scuba health <strong>and</strong> safety issues, as well as dem<strong>on</strong>strating the many benefitsof DAN membership. This includes answers to frequently asked divemedical questi<strong>on</strong>s, oxygen course listings <strong>and</strong> the locati<strong>on</strong> of a DANBusiness Member near you. Members can order DAN products, sign up<strong>and</strong> renew <strong>on</strong>line.In 2004, DAN Research, al<strong>on</strong>g with the Informati<strong>on</strong> Technology <strong>and</strong>Communicati<strong>on</strong>s departments, developed a new secti<strong>on</strong> of the website forresearch.
