Considering only the number <strong>of</strong> layers <strong>of</strong>confinement, the common packaging configurations currently described in the <strong>CH</strong>-TRUCONdocument 3 can be bound by the packaging configurations presented in Table 5.2-3.For example, a packaging configuration consisting <strong>of</strong> a single plastic bag in a 55-gallon drum for<strong>Waste</strong> Type II or III could be conservatively placed into Configuration 2 (i.e., the DAC for apackaging configuration consisting <strong>of</strong> 1 inner bag would be less than or equal to that for 3 innerbags and 1 liner bag). Similarly, a configuration <strong>of</strong> 2 inner bags and 2 liner bags in a 55-gallondrum for these waste types would be assigned to Configuration 3. In addition, filtered bag layersare also conservatively assigned to the configurations in Table 5.2-3.
