<strong>Loyalist</strong> Practical Nurses Achieve 100% Success in<br />

Registration Examinations<br />

<strong>Loyalist</strong> <strong>College</strong> Practical Nursing graduates of 2007 have received<br />

notification that all 24 members of the class were successful in their<br />

registration examination. Each of these graduates ranked at or above<br />

the provincial average in all areas assessed.This qualifies them to<br />

work as a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario.<br />

“This is the second consecutive year that graduates of the Practical<br />

Nursing program have achieved a 100% success rate on the<br />

registration examination,” said Karen Brooks-Cathcart, Dean of<br />

Health and Human Studies.“In addition to congratulating the<br />

graduates on their success, I want to acknowledge the commitment of<br />

faculty and staff to providing a very high quality program.They have<br />

all worked extremely hard to achieve this success.”<br />

“My success in writing the examination is definitely a reflection of<br />

how well the faculty prepared us for it,” said Sarah Freymond.<br />

“<strong>Loyalist</strong> was a great learning environment that was extremely<br />

supportive. In the classroom it was always evident that the professors<br />

were teaching from their experience, and this definitely strengthened<br />

the program. My favourite part of the Practical Nursing program was<br />

having the opportunity to take the knowledge that I had learned in<br />

class and apply it in a clinical setting. I am now employed at Quinte<br />

Healthcare in North Hastings where I grew up. I’m doing what I<br />

always dreamed of doing.”<br />
