Why Choose
Loyalist College
CAREER
LAUNCH:
“There is a definite shortage of
skilled trades people which will
continue to increase as many current
workers are close to retirement age.
The trades have been neglected and
now industry knows that they need
skilled, trained workers to fill those
roles.This gives me the perfect
opportunity to advance my career.
Linamar, the company I work for, has
approximately 20 plants right here in
Guelph, another in Batawa, and also
an overseas plant.There are many
opportunities for advancement right
within this company – not to
mention those throughout the
industry. I want to travel and see
places that I’ve never seen. I can’t
think of a better way than to have a
job that I enjoy that takes me there.
The opportunities are there. I plan to
take advantage of them.”
“I was really glad when Loyalist decided
to offer year two of the program”
“Based on the class tour to visit area
dealers during my first year, I felt that
employers were very positive about
graduates of the Motive Power
Fundamentals program. This encouraged
me as a student who would be looking for
employment in a short length of time.”
“I was really glad when Loyalist
decided to offer year two of the program.
This meant that I could return to Loyalist
to complete my diploma – instead of
having to move to another city and start
at a new college.”
