When I graduated from high school, my<br />
marks were inconsistent from class to<br />
class. I never did well in classes I was not<br />
interested in. But, when I came to<br />
<strong>Loyalist</strong>, that all changed because I was<br />
interested in the Recreation and Leisure<br />
Services program. Although my study<br />
habits did not change from high school, I<br />
liked what I was doing, and that made all<br />
the difference. I had to work hard to do as<br />
well as I did, but I also had lots of time to<br />
have fun on and off campus, meeting<br />
new people and making new friends.<br />
I apply everything I learned at <strong>Loyalist</strong><br />
to my job as a Coordinator for After<br />
School Programs and Summer Camps<br />
with the City of Ottawa. Whether it is<br />
planning or running the program, I know<br />
exactly what I am supposed to be doing. I<br />
owe a lot to my professors who were very<br />
knowledgeable and willing to share their<br />
wealth of experience in the field.<br />
The Recreation and Leisure Services<br />
program is demanding and requires a<br />
commitment of time and effort. But once<br />
you get that diploma, the employment<br />
possibilities are endless.<br />
