THE CAREER CENTRE:<br />
A variety of services to help you succeed. The Career Centre<br />
provides a variety of services and resources that support students and<br />
alumni in their career exploration, planning, job search and<br />
career development.<br />
One-on-One Assistance: Individual assistance in career planning and the<br />
development of job search skills is available to all students and alumni.<br />
Personal Assessment Tools: Choices, Career Cruising and Career Explorer are<br />
on-line career self-assessment tools that allow students and alumni to<br />
explore career options that relate to their personality, skills, interests<br />
and values.<br />
Resource Library: Access a wide variety of job-search related materials,<br />
including resource guides, magazines, newspaper articles and<br />
free handouts.<br />
Job Postings: We post more than one hundred full-time, part-time and<br />
seasonal jobs on our on-line job board each month. Stop by The<br />
Career Centre to find out how you can access these postings.<br />
Opportunities to Meet Employers: The Career Centre welcomes<br />
employers on campus throughout the year. In September there is a<br />
part-time job fair and in February the Centre hosts the annual job<br />
fair. More than 100 employers attend this event to recruit full-time,<br />
part-time and summer staff.<br />
Workshops: Workshops are offered throughout the school year and are<br />
designed to provide assistance with various job search skills<br />
including resume and cover letter writing, successful interviewing,<br />
and networking.<br />
Earn your Career Development Certificate. The Career<br />
Centre offers a series of workshops designed to help you develop the<br />
skills and knowledge to plan your career and find your ideal job.<br />
Attend one of the Career Exploration Workshops and all three of the<br />
Employment Preparation Workshops to earn your certificate.<br />
Workshops will be offered throughout the school year on a rotational<br />
basis. Drop by The Career Centre to register.<br />
