Soutworth 5 , 1 University of Central Lancashire, Preston,Lancashire, PR1 2HE, kmhambleton@googlemail.com,2 University of Texas at San Antonio,donald.kurtz@utsa.edu, 3 Villanova University, andrej.prsa@villanova.edu, 4 Instituut voor Sterrenkunde,Steven.Bloemen@ster.kuleuven.be, 5 Keele University, jkt@astro.keele.ac.uk.KIC4544587isaneclipsingbinarystarwithrapidapsidalmotion,tidalexcitationofgmodes,andpmodesmodulatedbytheDopplershift.TheprimarycomponentisanearlyA‐typeδScutivariable,withatemperatureof8270±250K,whilstthesecondarycomponentisanearlyG‐typemainsequencestarwithatemperatureof6500±310K.Theorbitalperiodofthissystemis2.18911(1)d,withthelightcurvedemonstratingahumpaftersecondaryminimumduetoproximityaffects.Thefrequencyspectrumoftheresidualdata(theoriginaldatawiththebinarycharacteristicsremoved)showsthepresenceofbothpressure(p)andgravity(g)modes.Eightofthegmodesareprecisemultiplesoftheorbitalfrequency,withstatisticalconfidencegreaterthan3σ.Thisisasignatureofresonantexcitation.Furthermore,manyofthepmodesthatarenotorbitalharmonicsareseparatedbytheorbitalfrequency.WepresentourworkinghypothesisthattheDopplereffect,causedbytheorbitalmotion,hasgeneratedsidelobesontheprominentpmodeoscillations,whichareofcomparableamplitudetotheoscillationsthemselves.1802011 <strong>Kepler</strong> Science Conference - <strong>NASA</strong> Ames Research Center
