ARTICLE 33SECURITY GUARDSSection 1. The Employer agrees to continue to provide Security Guards with uniform allowancesin accordance with the amounts authorized by AR 670-10. The Employer further agrees tocontinue payment of uniform allowances in accordance with any future changes authorized by AR670-10 during the life of this agreement.Section 2. All Security Guard uniform articles, regardless of where purchased, will meet thest<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> specifications cited in AR 670-10 <strong>and</strong> will be worn in the manner prescribed. TheEmployer agrees that in the event that uniforms meeting the requirements of AR 670-10 can befound by employees at a lower cost than is presently being paid, employees will be allowed topurchase said uniforms.a. Long sleeve shirts may be worn throughout the entire year by Security Guards. Shortsleeve shirts may be worn during the year except for the months established by the Employer forwinter uniform.b. The Employer agrees to provide Security Guards with weapons, ammunition, <strong>and</strong> portableradios as required to perform assigned duties. The Employer also will issue flashlights; nylon gunbelts; holsters, <strong>and</strong> keepers; <strong>and</strong> h<strong>and</strong>cuffs <strong>and</strong> case.Section 3. Vehicles assigned for use by Security Guards shall be maintained in a safe operatingcondition by the Employer. Security Guards assigned to operate such vehicles shall report to theirsupervisors any safety deficiencies noted, <strong>and</strong> supervisors will take necessary action to correctdeficiencies through established procedures.Section 4. The tours of duty for the Security Guard shifts are: Shift 1: 2345 to 0815; Shift 2:0745 to 1615; <strong>and</strong> Shift 3: 1545 to 0015. A Security Guard will not be required by the Employerto sign for his/her assigned weapons without due compensation. Weapons normally will be turnedin at the end of each shift starting at five (5) minutes past the hour unless the Employer has otherduties to be assigned or weapons are required to be turned in at an earlier or later time. AllSecurity Guards are required to attend guard mount. Security Guards assigned to post 11 <strong>and</strong>M1 patrol who are relieved from their assignments by Security Guards from the oncoming shiftwill be provided overtime compensation if they are unable to return to the station prior to thescheduled end of shift. When such irregular or occasional overtime work is performed, minutesworked will be rounded up or rounded down to the nearest fifteen (15) minute interval to creditthe overtime work. The Employer agrees that Security Guards will be assigned to one of thethree (3) shifts upon successful completion of training. To the extent feasible, the Employer willendeavor to schedule days off on a rotating progressive basis for each Security Guard on aparticular shift. The Employer agrees to be fair <strong>and</strong> equitable in its efforts to schedule days off.The Employer also agrees to allow Security Guards to trade days off in accordance with Section 968
