Introduction to Public Policy - Fall <strong>and</strong> Spring (3) An introduction to the dynamics <strong>of</strong> thepolicy-making process in national government.HistoryStudents have considerable flexibility in selecting courses in history. The introductory courses arenumbered 100 to 299. Students who score 4 or better on the AP examination in European Historyare exempt from History 111-112, <strong>and</strong> those who score 4 or better on the AP examination inAmerican History are exempt from History 121-122. The topical courses listed under History 211-212 are especially designed for students who are exempt from History 111-112 or 121-122 <strong>and</strong>who wish to take more history at the lower-division level. Such students may also wish toconsider History 131, 132, 141, 142, 161, 171, 172, 181, 182, 183, 191, <strong>and</strong> 192, or other coursesat the 200 level.<strong>Course</strong>s at the upper-division level are more specialized than at the lower, but normally do nothave prerequisites.
