SECTION 6STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCTAs a part of its mission, <strong>Mount</strong> <strong>Olive</strong> <strong>College</strong> formulated this Code of Conduct (<strong>Student</strong> Code).The <strong>College</strong> believes that its proper role is to offer educational opportunities in a Christianatmosphere, with such opportunities to include the personal growth of students. Hence, thedevelopment of responsible social attitudes is promoted by our community. <strong>Student</strong>s areexpected to become familiar with and adhere to the <strong>College</strong> and Residence Hall standards forstudent conduct. Furthermore, students are responsible for their own actions, and those whoviolate the Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action.Membership in the <strong>Mount</strong> <strong>Olive</strong> <strong>College</strong> community is a privilege that shall not be abused.<strong>Student</strong>s accepting the offer of admission and matriculating to the <strong>College</strong> assume the obligationof conducting themselves in a manner compatible with the <strong>College</strong> as an educational institutionand agree to abide by all published regulations governing the student body. Minimal regulationsare necessary to ensure respect for basic individual rights and the welfare of the community. The<strong>College</strong> acknowledges and respects the rights of each student, but the <strong>College</strong> is not a sanctuaryfrom the law.44
