Thesteel mill processes ferrous scrap metal through the electric arcfurnace (EAF), converting the steel into a wide range of productsincluding grinding media bar feed for grinding media, rail wheelsand axles, bar products, cold mill rolls and ingots.The Waratah Steel Mill includes the Moly-Cop Australia grindingmedia facilities with capacity to manufacture approximately 250thousand tonnes of grinding media per annum.OneSteel Rail & Forge is a supplier of rail wheel products to theAustralian and select international rail markets. Operating for morethan 80 years, the business provides a range of wheels, axles andwheel sets predominantly for heavy haul rail systems.The business operates from its Waratah production facility inNewcastle, Australia, with capacity to produce approximately 105thousand wheels per annum and is at the forefront of high hardnessheavy haul wheel technology where OneSteel wheels are subjectto the highest axle loads in some of the world’s most demandingenvironments.Wire RopesOneSteel Wire Ropes produces a range of wire rope products formining rope and industrial ropes markets. The OneSteel Wire Ropesbusiness has a long and proud history of ropemaking in Australia,with more than 85 years experience as a trusted manufacturer andsupplier to the global mining industry. The business has capacityto produce approximately 20 thousand tonnes per annum andemploys more than 100 people.OneSteel Wire Ropes operates from its production facility inNewcastle, Australia and is a leading supplier of mining wirerope products including dragline rope, plastic infused wire ropes,shovel rope, pendant strand, underground mining rope, flexibleroof bolts for underground mining applications and cable hauledconveyor rope.
