Once an official transcript is filed with the Court Clerk, the attorneysin the case and pro se parties are responsible for identifying the personal data identifiers thatmust be redacted from filings pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 5.2. Unless otherwise ordered bythe Court, the attorney for a party and each pro se party are responsible for identifyingredactions required in the following portions of the transcript:(1) opening and closing statements made on that party’s behalf;(2) statements of the party; and(3) the testimony of any witnesses called by the party.The Court may also direct that an attorney or pro se party be responsible for identifyingredactions in other portions of an official transcript.(b)Redaction Request. To request redaction of personal data identifiers from anofficial transcript, the attorney or pro se party must file a redaction request, using the formin Appendix VII, within 21 days of the filing of the transcript. The request shall identify theredactions to be made with respect to:(1) social security numbers and taxpayer-identification numbers: use onlythe last four digits;(2) financial account numbers: use only the last four digits;(3) dates of birth: use only the year; and(4) a minor’s name: redact in the manner that most effectively shields theidentity of the minor in the context of the proceeding.(c)Request for Additional Redactions. For any redactions to a transcript otherthan the personal data identifiers listed above, a separate Motion for Redaction must be filedwithin 21 days of the filing of the transcript, unless otherwise ordered by the Court.-6-
