Any attorney who is eligible for admission to the barof this Court may, in the discretion of a judge of this Court, be granted temporary admissionto practice in a pending case. Attorneys requesting such admission are required to attach totheir motion a completed Request for Admission Pro Hac Vice form provided by the CourtClerk’s office along with the required fee. Counsel admitted pro hac vice shall submit an ECFRegistration Form and, upon activation electronically file an entry of appearance consistentwith LCvR83.4.LCvR83.3(a)Association of Local Counsel.Responsibilities of Non-Resident Counsel. When representing a party in thisCourt, any attorney who is not a resident of, and does not maintain an office in, Oklahoma shallshow association with an attorney who is personally appearing in the action and who is aresident of Oklahoma and maintains a law office within the State of Oklahoma, and who hasbeen duly and regularly admitted to practice in this Court.(b)Responsibilities of Local Counsel. It is the responsibility of local counselappearing in any civil case to file the motion of the non-resident attorney to be admitted prohac vice and to certify in the motion that the non-resident attorney is a member in goodstanding of the bar of the highest court of the state where the non-resident attorney resides oris licensed. The local attorney shall sign the first pleading filed and shall continue in the caseunless other local counsel is substituted. Any notice, pleading, or other paper may be servedupon the local attorney with the same effect as if personally served on the non-residentattorney.(c)Relief from this Rule. Relief from this rule is within the Court’s discretionupon motion establishing financial hardship, special qualifications of non-resident counsel, orother good cause, provided that out-of-state counsel certifies familiarity with the local civilcourt rules.-31-
LCvR83.4 Appearance of Counsel.An attorney appearing for a party in a civil case shall enter an appearance by signingand filing an entry of appearance on the form prescribed by the Clerk of this Court. This entryof appearance shall include a certification that the attorney is admitted to practice in this Court.In addition, the entry of appearance shall state whether the attorney is registered in this Court’sElectronic Case Filing System.In the event a party should change counsel or add counsel, the new or additional counselfor such party shall enter an appearance by signing and filing an entry of appearance on theform prescribed by the Clerk of this Court.LCvR83.5 Attorney Withdrawal From Case.In civil cases, attorneys of record shall not withdraw from the case except by leave ofthe judge to whom the case is assigned, upon reasonable notice to the client and all otherparties who have appeared in the case. Withdrawal of counsel may be granted subject to theconditions stated by the Court, including the condition that subsequent papers may continueto be served upon counsel for forwarding purposes or upon the Clerk of the Court, as the Courtmay direct, unless and until the client appears by other counsel or pro se, and any notice to theclient shall so state and any filed consent of the client shall so acknowledge.LCvR83.6(a)Discipline by the Court.Discipline by Other Courts; Criminal Convictions. Whenever it appears tothe Court that any member admitted to practice in this Court, including those persons admittedpro hac vice, has been suspended, disbarred, or resigned pending disciplinary proceedings fromthe practice of law by the Supreme Court of Oklahoma or by any other court of competentjurisdiction or has been convicted of a felony or any crime involving moral turpitude in anycourt, such disbarment, suspension, or conviction shall operate as an automatic disbarment ofthe attorney’s right to practice in this Court, and an order of disbarment shall be issued by theCourt. The order of disbarment shall remain in effect unless, within 30 days from the date of-32-
