Landfill Development and Operation2.1 Updated Site PlanThe Eastview Landfill closed on October 10, 2003. The final contour plan for the site is included as Drawing1.2.2 Quantity, Sources and Types <strong>of</strong> Waste Deposited in 2008.There was no waste disposed at the Eastview Landfill Site in 2008.2.3 Clean Fill Received in 2008There was no clean fill received in 2008 to be used for the landfill. However, approximately 10,000 m 3 <strong>of</strong>clean topsoil was stockpiled at the site by Parks and Recreation. This topsoil was brought to the site ananticipation <strong>of</strong> the start up <strong>of</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Park, as part <strong>of</strong> the end use for the site.2.4 Remaining Site Capacity and LifeThere is no approved capacity remaining.2.5 Clean Fill Needs in 2009No filling or grading is anticipated in 2009. However, if fill is required to repair eroded areas or for sitegrading, it will be obtained from on-site sources wherever possible.2.6 Operational Problems and Remedial MeasuresIn January 2008, a blockage was discovered in the pipe that connects the old main pump station with themain pump station. There was no spillage <strong>of</strong> leachate outside the confines <strong>of</strong> either chamber. The blockagebetween chambers was removed and the pipe flushed and video inspected. The old main pump station wasalso cleaned. A high level alarm was installed in the old main pump station.
