These loadings, specifically for leachate CBOD 5and TKN, have always been within 1% of the corresponding WWTP influent loads, and are thus were alwaysconsidered insignificant. The Manager of the City of Guelph WWTP has always confirmed these loadingswere not significant. Since the water quality collected from the Main Pumping Station continues to be similarto that observed in the past, it is expected that the loadings on the WWTP will continue to be insignificant. Inthe future, if there is any significant change in the water quality collected (i.e., see significant increases inconcentrations), the loading calculation will be competed to ensure any increase that may be observed,would also be insignificant.3.2.2 South Pumping StationAs per the amended C of A dated February 15, 1996; no samples were collected from the south pumpingstation in 2008. The average monthly leachate flow from the south pumping station was 114.6 m 3 /d, with themaximum and minimum flows being 195 m 3 /d and 64.5 m 3 /d, respectively.3.2.3 West Pumping StationAs per the amended C of A dated February 15, 1996, no samples were collected from the west pumpingstation in 2008. The average monthly leachate flow from the west pumping station was 130.9 m 3 /d, with themaximum and minimum flows being 187.6 m 3 /d and 78 m 3 /d, respectively.3.2.4 SummaryA review of the analytical results of samples collected from the main pumping station for each event in 2008shows that all parameters were within the Model Sewer Use by-law limits. The leachate would not contributea significant CBOD 5 , TKN or hydraulic load to the WWTP. However, an anomalous cyanide value wasreported as part of the fall full MISA sampling event. This result will be re-evaluated in the spring of 2009.3.3 MISA Priority PollutantsLeachate samples were collected from the main pumping station for analysis of the MISA parameters listedin “Table 2 of the C of A”. Samples were collected on June 3, 2008 and November 27, 2008. The analyticalresults are provided in Appendix C.The MISA parameters can be divided into two categories, the first being conventional and metals, and the secondbeing non-conventional organics. All of the parameters in the first category were below Model Sewer Use by-lawlimits (where applicable), and were detected at relatively low concentrations.(111414_2ra_apr29-09_city_of_guelph.doc) - 7 -
