This data base is officially called the "Data baseproblem hard drug users 2008" (in Dutch: "Database problematische harddrugsgebruikers2008"). <strong>The</strong> data base is operated by the <strong>Trimbos</strong> Institute, and is a compilation ofunderlying data bases. <strong>The</strong> Municipal Health Service Amsterdam (GGD Amsterdam) suppliedthe data for the city of Amsterdam (Buster et al. 2009), the Addiction Research InstituteRotterdam (IVO) supplied the data for the cities of Rotterdam (Schoenmakers etal. 2009b) and <strong>The</strong> Hague (Schoenmakers et al. 2009a), and finally Bureau INTRAVALdelivered the data for the cities of Utrecht, Groningen, Enschede, Eindhoven, and Heerlen(Biesma et al. 2009).It was found that from the 572 problem drug users, a majority of 441 problem drug users(77.1%) had been in treatment during the past year at an institute for addiction carethat delivers data to the National Alcohol and <strong>Drug</strong>s Information System (LADIS). <strong>The</strong>55
